The Pet Fence Wire Break Locator makes finding breaks quick and easy. Often times, it is not possible to tell where your wire is broken unless you have the wire break locator.
It's not uncommon that you would need to dig up all your wire to find it. The Wire Break Locator will help you troubleshoot your system if there is a wire break indication on the fence transmitter or if the receiver collar is not functioning on the containment system but works during the short loop test.
Our Pet Fence Wire Break Detector can be used for any brand of underground pet fence to find wire breaks. This new and improved system replaces RFA-50.
The wire break locator is not returnable unless it is defective. All returned wire break detectors will be tested for proper operation. We will replace defective wire locators at no charge.

We had a problem trying to distinguise the 2 different tones,we always thought it was same tone all the way around and very weak signal at its farthest location

Very easy to use and did a fantastic to locating break as I have about 5000 lf of wire buried. Definitely worth the money. I would recommend it to anyone who has this type of fence as has a break.

It took a little while to figure it out but after I knew what I was doing it took less than 10 minutes to locate the break and fix it. Service man who came after 'Hurricane Sandy replaced the wire too close to the neighbors and they unknowingly planted a tree right on top of it ! My wire break locator was much cheaper than the service man, just as fast, and I still have it if trouble arises again.

This is the best device. It works perfectly with the radio that
is included. If you have the radio fence you NEED this break
finder. It usually takes my husband hours to find the break,
but with the finder it only took him 45 minutes from start to finish. We have about 3 1/2 acres of fence. He usually knows
where to start looking. We are extremely pleased.

I installed a radio fence above ground. It worked very well. I had cut the wire a couple of times with the lawn mower and was able to repair the break with no problem. This break appeared to be caused by accidental cut made by a shovel or how in the middle of a run of the fence. I purched the product to locate the break. The product installed easlily and the instructions were easy to follow and I was able to find the break very quickly. I had read several reviews and was conserned about the quality of the radio receiver. Although a the low end of the AM band had inference from a local radio station, the receiver was able to pick up a very loud tone from the transmitter. I am very pleased with the performance of the product and recommend the product.

The wire break detector kit did help me find the location of our buried perimeter fence. However, the radio that is provided is worthless since it is not powerful enough and can't tune to a frequency that will provide the feedback that is required. I was able to use one of my own radio/cd/cassette players that runs on 4 "D" cell batteries. My radio emitted a clear tone when tuned to the low end of the am dial. Overall, the kit was worthwhile, since it included the transmitter, ground stakes, wire, gel caps, and the instructions on how to find breaks in the wire. I dug up the wire where it initially exits my home, cut the wire, connected the transmitter there and installed the ground stakes. The system worked as advertised while using my own radio which I hung from a rope so I could dangle it just above the ground without strain to my back. As far as detecting a break in our fence: the tone did change from pulsing to constant at one point in our 1000 foot "fence". We dug up about 20' of line and fine a break in the wire but it may be that we cut the wire while digging it up. I am skeptical that the wire was broken at this location previously because after we made the repair to the break the radio continued to give us a constant tone over this 20' stretch and yet gave us a pulse tone over all other portions of the fence. After fixing the broken wire we were still getting the error light and tone from our transmitter indicating that there was still a break in the wire somewhere. However, I switched the transmitter from the "B" setting to the "A" setting and adjusted the boundary width knob and the system then began to work.

I have 1500 feet of underground wire, mostly in the woods around my property. It has been in for 14 years. It was impossible to find it without this detector. It took us about an hour to finally locate the break. This product worked as advertised. I only wish I could rent it out to others to recoup my cost. :)

We purchased this and found several breaks in our wire. It worked just as it was supossed to. In my opinion it was better to purchase this rather than dig up the 2 acre dog fence to find the break. I would have a different review about the wire that came with the dog fence.

For 16 years I've been an Radio Fence user with as many as 3 neighbor's yards in our containment area. Randomly every year or 2 having a break occur and using a radio to find it.
It usually takes 1-4 hours each time. This found the break in 20 min and in an area I would not have expected to find a break.
