Loading... Please wait...The Pet Fence Wire Break Locator makes finding breaks quick and easy. Often times, it is not possible to tell where your wire is broken unless you have the wire break locator.
It's not uncommon that you would need to dig up all your wire to find it. The Wire Break Locator will help you troubleshoot your system if there is a wire break indication on the fence transmitter or if the receiver collar is not functioning on the containment system but works during the short loop test.
Our Pet Fence Wire Break Detector can be used for any brand of underground pet fence to find wire breaks. This new and improved system replaces RFA-50.
Features:
Includes:
The wire break locator is not returnable unless it is defective. All returned wire break detectors will be tested for proper operation. We will replace defective wire locators at no charge.

First of all, this is the first review that I have ever written for any product but since I know firsthand the frustrations regarding finding a broken wire for our invisible fence, felt I needed to write my review and let people know that this product is Awesome! Instructions were very easy and I found the break in the wire and repaired within 20 minutes! Hope I never have another line break but if I do then I feel very confident owning the RF-450. Well worth the money...buy it!

Unable to get tones without radio station at the same time. Too many radio ststions in our area around the 620 frequency.
We able to find the break but needed to do some digging to actually pinpoint the actual location

As an Electrical Engineer and a manufacturer of electronic products, I thought the product worked "OK" but it could be a lot better.

Had my fence fixed in 20 minutes flat! This was worth the money. The unit tends to get very hot with prolonged use but still highly recommend!

As noted by someone else on here, the unit does get very hot. A trick I found is that the plug that it comes with does not have a ground, so that is what I use to ground my system down. It comes with wire, so all you need is enough to go from the wall outlet to the ground terminal. Once you connect the two other wires that go to your fence, it is nothing more than walking the line. I found the brake within inches. The tones could be more distinctive instead of static since thats all you will listen to until you find the brake. This is the best tool and an incredible price. I have a toner made from tempo that is $1,500 and cannot compair with this. Thank you so much.

I have an underground fence that covers about 4 acres so when my system detected a break I wasn't able to locate it. It has a broken a couple times before and normally I can determine where the break occurred by recalling if any digging happened anywhere. This last incident I wasn't able to find the break so I ordered the Break Finder. The instructions said that the underground wire system has to be ground which mine is and that when the break is found the tone will change to another tone. Mine didn't quite work this way. I could hear the tone but then it gradually went silent. I walked another 10 - 20 feet and never picked up a second tone. so i decided to search the area where the tone stopped and I was able to find the break. Bottom line is that it located the break kind of sort of.

The unit does seem to become very ""hot"" if plugged in for more than 15 minutes. I don't know if this is normal and have not inquired about this to find out if normal or if a problem.
Otherwise - we were able to find multiple breaks in our line.

was larger than expected, but worked very well. We live in upstate NY and have an invisible fence for our two 110-lb labs. Between the cold weather and hazards of a very active yard with lots of traffic on three of four sides of the fence, we've experienced a number of breaks. This product is much more affordable and convenient that having to call out a professional to find run-of-the-mill breaks. It won't help with most partial breaks or corrosion problems (unless corrosion has broken the loop), but we've had good success using it to locate breaks that had incapacitated our fence. You do need some basic technical know-how and a little patience to use this effectively, but its not overly complicated.
