I purchased the Deluxe Dog Fence Transmitter to replace a 1994 model Deluxe Model Radio Fence transmitter box that got short circuited during a bad lightning storm. It was an easy fix since I was able to use the existing wire loop (about 1200' of wire). All our old Radio Fence and PetSafe collars work with the new unit. A nice feature of the new transmitter is that it will beep to alert you when the loop circuit is broken. The old transmitter required you to check the loop circuit lights on the housing, so I am sure sometimes we went several days without knowing our fence was down. The peace of mind we get from not having to worry about our dog roaming away is well worth the price of this product. He is happy to have 2 acres to run around in - instead of a small penned area and the neighbors love to see him sitting 3 feet from our property line

Ran wire around 17 acres. This transmitter works great keeping my 2 large, stubborn dogs on our property. Never have to worry about them straying any more. Just bought this second transmitter to keep them out of the greenhouse. Have been thrilled with the performance for over 2 years. Lightning protection is a must. Replaced 2 transmitters early on, but haven't had any problems since. I still unplug everything before storms when we are home, but are gone a lot and can't do it every time. I appreciate the fact any time I order it comes correctly and very quickly. LOVE the new staples to keep above ground wire secure. Put out 200 of them in no time in our sandy, Florida soil. Thanks PetSafe and RadioFence!

We owned our first transmitter for a little over a year but did not have the surge protector on the fence wire. One bad storm later we had to replace the transmitter. This is a great product but make sure you by the $20 surge protector so you don't have to by another $100 transmitter.

This company has great customer service. I originally ordered the wrong transmitter and when I called they quickly canceled my order and got me the correct one. No hassles and very helpful !

Pet Smart only sells complete kit and I only needed the transmitter. Plugged in to my existing wire and works perfect.

I had my first petsafe fence for 12 years before it died. the new one works just like the old one. if I had checked the resistance on my fence wire sooner I would have seen the high resistance problem. I had an area in the fence that had corrosion and that caused my first transmitter to fail

I have been using radio fence product's for almost 25 years my dogs have been well protected I feel that the transmitters are too expensive though this is my fourth transmitter and purchasing it for almost $100 seems too expensive years ago I used to get the old ones for $25-$30 and wish you still had a program to get your old one repaired thank you

Bought this to replace the standard "black box" transmitter I had that wouldn't put out a signal strong enough for the area I cover. This was probably at least the 3rd of the "black box" transmitters" I had replaced. I have right at 2,200 feet of wire and you were lucky to set off a collar sitting on top of the wire. The new "deluxe" transmitter is doing the job. I finally have the signal strength that I had when I very first installed the fence over eight years ago. If you are going to buy a fence or replace a transmitter and have a long run of wire I recommend this transmitter. It's more expensive, but well worth it.
