We installed a radio fence with our beloved lab 15 years ago. Now we have a spit-fire little dachsund name Sparky. Trained in the first 3 hours knew broundries. Besides low maintance and upkeep. We are proud that our dogs don't roam the neighborhood and not hit by cars on the busy main road. We also are able to enjoy the woods with out installing a unsightly fence.

Have no complaints about this product.Took a short time to train our dog. Now we can relax and watch the dogs play without having to worry about their safety. We and they enjoy our yard. Burying the cable was a bit tedious, but the result is well worth it.

The collar batteries dont last long but i buy my own batteries from radio shack now. It doesnt take long to train your pets. I have 7 acres and they stay in the yard. price is very good on this site also. i have 2 small dogs 5- 10 pounds and a lab with a different petsafe collar and works perfect

Our dogs safety is our #1 priority and we love this invisible fence for small dogs. We have 3 dogs (8 - 16 lbs) and they like to crawl under the gaps in our fence. It only took one day for them to adjust to the Small Dog System. We keep the collars set at 3 (blinks) and it works just fine for us. It's now been 3 months and we have not had to change the batteries (collars are only worn outside). Due to the slope of our lot, we buried half of the wire and the other half we attached to our fence with tie straps. Both ways work just fine. It's a wonderful system, very easy to install and very highly recommended!!

"Using a lawn edger made it easy to install the underground wire and the rest was a snap.
We have a toy poodle that weighs between 7 & 8 pounds and only have the collar on level 3, however I may have to turn it up to level 4 because the squirrels tease the dog and she will go through the fence chasing them sometimes. Otherwise it works great, no problems at all."

"Our 6 month old Schnoodle is a very active, athletic little dog. We started her training before the fence was totally installed and activated by placing the flags on the boundary and yelling ""FLAG"" everytime she went close to them on leash. The day the wire was laid and active, we continued yelling ""FLAG"" when she was in beeping distance of the fence and allowed her to get zapped twice on leash. Next day, we let her off leash and watched her, warned FLAG if she approached her boundary on a run, and she'd pull up before hitting the line. She's only breached her fence once since then and that was to chase an intruding dog OUT of HER YARD. Her sense of territory has been firmly established. She hasn't challenged it since, she'll even sit just inside her safe zone and watch the kids play next door although she'd dearly like to join them.
It's great to see her have complete freedom to run and play inside her 3 acre yard. She comes and goes as she pleases. We don't have to worry about her fatal attraction to cars on the road anymore. We think it's improved her physical and emotional health and her behaviour indoors is less rambunctions and destructive - you know puppies!!!
For those who say electric fences are cruel: Pffft. The few corrections she's received on the fence while learning are far kinder than a life time of having her tied up or constantly yelling at her or keeping her stuck indoors on a beautiful day.
I was disappointed with the battery life in the small dog collar though (6 weeks!), and they are expensive to boot. The larger collar would have been a bit too much for a 14 lb. dog. So, Pet-Safe, if you can redesign the collar to take a common size battery and still keep the size of the collar down, it would make this system perfect for smaller pets."
