I actually used to k9 train professionally with my local police dept. so I was aware of how to use an electric collar. The collar works really well considering the high tolerance level a Pitbull has. I actually came back to purchase the 2nd collar for my German Shepherd, which I was able to try 1st with the collar I got initially. Since I figured I was going to eventually add another one, I chose the control that can handle 2 pets at once. Pros are they catch on fast as long as you're consistent so you don't have to use the collar forever but it's a nice reminder if they get a little too frisky. Cons are it can stink from leaving it on...imagine a tight watch you leave on your wrist all day and multiply that with the natural smell of a dog. You get where I'm going with that but the material needs to be water resistant so it's a small price to pay for a well trained obedient dog. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has a large stubborn dog!

I researched static collars for my female lab a lot and finally decided on this one. I started it when she was about 6 months old and was being head strong in certain situations and just needed a little more encouragement to listen. I used other people's suggestions and would start my correction with the tone and if she did not correct the behavior I would give her a little shock. Now, 6 months later, I don't even have to put it on her. I can just show her the collar and she will lay down. I never shock her anymore if she does have it on, it usually just takes a couple tones. I recommend this for owners who have exhausted other training techniques with headstrong dogs. Also, the battery lasts a really long time, which was a big plus.
