Teach Your Pet to Avoid Areas in Your Home. Stop your pet from "Counter Surfing", waking the baby, getting into the trash or out of an entire room if necessary.
The PetSafe Pawz Away Indoor Pet Barrier is a wireless dog fence you can use to keep pets out of certain areas in your house. No training and no installation, simply place the small transmitter in the areas you don't want your dog to be, put the collar on him and watch as he stays away from the protected areas.
The transmitter will broadcast a radio signal adjustable up to 12 feet. When your dog first enters this range he will receive an audible tone followed by mild stimulation that will increase the closer he gets to the transmitter.
The PetSafe Pawz Away Indoor Pet Barrier can be put anywhere, in a plant, next to the front door, hanging on a wall or in the coffee table drawer. Whether it is hanging, standing or laying your pet will not be able to dig in your plants, run out the front door when guests arrive or beg for food at the dinner table.
You can use as many collars and transmitters as you need. Solve frustrating pet problems with expert ease!

I have a six year old dog and added a 7 mo old puppy at Christmas. Now they are everywhere! Including on my really good sofa and underfoot in the kitchen. They now know to stay out of those areas. Ordering a third transmitter for the living room...
My long hair dog doesn't seem to be as affected by the shock. I have clipped an area on her neck so she'll be more sensitive.
Diameter is not 12 feet, but I only use a 4-5 foot diameter so it's not a problem for me.

sorry but both my cats walk within inches of the barrier and I can hear the collars go off and they just walk on by. have tried many times to adjust them to no avail. my only option may be to shave the cats neck

At first the collar beeped while programming but wouldn't program. Sat on phone with a lovely lady and she walked me through how to program. But it still wouldn't work. She sent us a new collar and still nothing.

My dog is already using a Petsafe outdoor wireless fence so he understands the sound warning and quickly learned that the area is off limits. I found that the area protected by the unit was not the suggested 12 ft. But I did not need that much area so it works well for me. I would recommend this product. I'm actually purchasing a second unit to protect the trash from my beagles active nose.

This is working but in order for it to work for us we had to put it on pretty tight. It also doesn't seem like it's very consistent on when it shocks.

I like the part that it is wireless, no plugs and cords to deal with like the last model I had. The only down side that I am having with my training is the intensity of the shock isn't as strong as the one that does have the cords/plugs. I have a shepherd who has more hair than some dogs, but never had a problem with the previous indoor radio fence. Otherwise it works as stated.

If you are willing to shave a chewing stick size patch of hair under your cat's neck, this collar works well if you patiently cut the strap and adjust it small enough. product quality is high, and I expect this device to remain useful for years to come (with fresh batteries). rant: packaging is VERY hard to open.

This product is junk, doesn't even work on a 6 month old puppy. Very disappointed because I thought this would be my answer to his counter surfing but it didn't even phase him. Save your money and don't buy this!

Our 70lb labradoodle and 17lb shih-poo were completely taking over our bed at night. I got this, and put the transmitter under our bed. I showed them a few times that the bed was off limits. now, my husband and I are back to sleeping by ourselves, in our bed!! I hear a few beeps at night, as they both test it once or twice, but they don't dare hop up!!

Product immediately stopped our labradoodle from going through the garbage and counter surfing. We felt we had lost control of the house and were erecting barriers to keep the dog from getting into the kitchen. If we could not remedy the problem we would have had to either crate the dog or find him a better home. After a bit of initial confusion and shock (both literal and figurative) he knows exactly where to avoid.
