This is the third underground electric boarder fence I have had in many years...easy to install and hook up. I have always brought this brand. My yard is fenced in but my German shepherd jumps on the wire...after a zap or two she no longer jumps and knows how far she can go..with proper training I highly recommend this product.

I have had our fence for about a year, and it has been a great investment. We have gone through 2 receivers because of lightening storms shorting out one of the resistors. Pet safe has warrantied every time, but because we through away our receipt we had to pay $35 for the new ones. If you plan on buying, make sure to get the lightening protection. All in all a great product, just is a little sensative when it comes to storms. if you dont want to have to worry, just unplug your unit and fence wire when there is a storm.

We have 2 acre fence in. Our dog realized he could jump the fence with ease. We live very close to a major highway. Without fail as soon as he jumped that is where he headed. With petsafe we don't have to worry he's safety.

Bottom line: I can leave my dogs outside even after dark knowing they are safe and will be happily waiting for me when I get home. I have two large dogs, one of whom could easily jump my (unaltered) fence if he wanted and the other of whom is a digger and could easily dig under a fence. But Radio Fence makes both jumping over and digging under impossible. It also puts a few feet between potentially hazardous and vicious wildlife (javelina) and my dogs' noses -- they'd have their snouts sticking through the fence barking at javelina without Radio Fence, and some wildlife would be very happy to take a swat or bite.
I am all for some of the causes of animal rights activists, but those who oppose this system must not know how it really works. (There is someone in my neighborhood who every few months cuts off one of my dogs collars -- thus putting them at risk for getting out and therefore lost and injured. They're ignorant.) It never took more than two or three shocks in the training stage to train my dogs -- they picked it up fast.
The dogs love it b/c it means they can run free all over my property without ever needing kennelled or tied. They're the happiest dogs in the neighborhood -- and everyone here has critters.
PS - While I have a fence on most of my property (and run the wire through it), I do not have a gate at the top of my driveway. I dug a shallow trench and buried the wire in a few inches of dirt. And even without any visible barrier, after the flag training stage they get it -- they've never busted out except when they've lost a collar - and even then it takes them a couple days to figure out they're""free."
Buy this and install it yourself, or hire a handyman -- there's no need to pay someone thousands to put it in for you. I did need a contractor's help installing an outdoor outlet inside a waterproof box, but once in it works great.

This product is very user friendly (except for the dog). Do the work and no once know that is a fence in your yard.

I love the radio fence. It was easy to install, the directions were easy to follow and best of all it works! My dog stays in the yard even when other animals are outside the fence, it is great!

this was recommended by a friend that had one for two large dogs. i've got a smaller dog 12 lbs but had to do something.
i used an edger to cut a small trench and buried the wire in less than three hours for a yard that has a perimiter of approximatly 400 ft. put the flags up and was totally impress that the dog got the idea of what was going on in less than two days.
would highly recommend this to anyone with a dog that refuses to come back when they get out through the front door or digs out of a fenced in back yard on a regular basis.
