We replaced a very old RF-101 collar with this one. Our transmitter (controller) was the RadioFence RF-102 unit still working after well 18 years of service. This collar worked well with the old controller utilizing all three of the older transmitter's modes. The 9 volt battery is the way to go.
(The older collar was still working, but those battery types were becoming more expensive and difficult to find)

I will never be without an invisible fence for my dogs. They are a vital part of our family and their well being and safety is high priority. This collar makes sure that they know their limitations and boundaries without discomfort and alot of yelling on my part. Training was easy or maybe I just have smart animals.

This is the only collar that would keep my bull headed dog inside his fence. Without this, I don't know what we would have done. We tried everything to keep him contained but nothing worked until we got the stubborn dog collar. Thanx radiofence for a great product and great service.

My 50 lb lab mix just waltz right thru. She will wait till I lift her over the line before coming back across. This collar was no better than the less expensive ones.

We began with the regular collar, which works great for one of our dogs. The other dog was breaking out, so we bought the Stubborn Dog Collar, Within a week we had turned it all the way up to level 5, and the darn dog is STILL taking a running leap and jumping over the in-ground fence. One "yip" as he crosses it, and he's off. I'm wondering if anyone has a solution to offer!

I think the vibration warning of this collar is one of the most important features. It vibrates harder than my cell phone and that usually stops the dog in its tracks. I have used this collar for three stubborn dogs (Beagle, Catahoula, Lab). My 7 month old lab puppy took three days of 10-15 minute sessions of training in a 4-acre containment area, and now will not cross the fence line

I already had a stubborn dog collar on my hucky/border collie mix who with a regular collar would run thru the fence stubborn dog collar stopped her immediately and for a while even when i took it off her she still thought she'd get zapped so i'd have to carry her out of the driveway when we went for walks she eventually figured it out that she could cross the border when the collar is off and the leash is on.
so purchased a new stubborn collar for our 3 year old sheltie, who doesn't seem fazed by the regular collar he got zapped right off the bat and does not go near the end of the driveway anymore, mission accomplished.

We have 5 dogs. Three are border collies and two were adept at defeating any collar we tried until this one. We even had 2 collars on one of them. These collars with the vibration stop them in their tracks. Great product.

These 'stubborn dog' fence collar are apparently no more effective than the old, regular dog collars they replaced. My dogs still roam where they want, as if they were wearing no collars at all. Not worth the extra money, in my experience.
It is very important that a dog be properly trained to stay within the boundary. One cannot just replace an existing collar with the Stubborn Dog Collar and expect the dog to stay in the yard. If a dog is going through the boundary with an existing collar, one must retrain the dog along with using the Stubborn Dog Collar.

Our dogs love to run on our 2 1/2 acres. This collar keeps them safe and away from the busy road.
