    My 100lb lab is pretty ambitious, and had to get at each of three sides of the yard before she gave up her attempts to cross the boundries. Now I go out with her and play (w/o collar) and when she gets too close to boundary I just "ahh-ahh" and she comes back.
    Have some more training to do before I can put the collar on her and allow her out alone.

    My dog is 12 years old, has used the invisible fence for 11 1/2 years, and I don't think he will run away, but without the collar he pushes the boundries. The collar helps me to know that he is safe. I do wonder if the weight of the collar might be a little too much for an older dog.

    We just about lost our minds with this 80lb. lab. He doesn't listen no matter what.He wasn't jumping the fence and running us crazy. The only way we could get him back was to let him jump in our truck.I want to know if I can purchase just the collar without the black box? The meshlike collar is wearing thin and we got it in Jan.

    I have an electric fence around and acre and a half. I started my two large dogs with "regular" electric fence collars and after a period of time they got used to running out of the fence-then would not come back. I just started them out with the stubborn dog collars and so far everything is proceeding well. No escapes yet. I was concerned because a review I read said that the stubborn dog collars do not make a noise but they do-they both vibrate and make a click as a warning. The "boxes" on the collar are significantly bigger than the regular boxes and I would prefer a stronger collar, but if they work they are a gold mine.

    "We have contained our pets to approximately 3 acres of our 9 acre hobby farm. The fence has allowed us to keep our gardens and other areas protected from the pets along with keeping our pets in a safe perimeter on our property (not the highway or the neighbors lawn) We love to offer our pets the freedom to run, but not into traffic or chasing bikers, joggers, walkers etc...this has lead to a trip to the vet at $450.00 to mend a broken leg. Also, it has kept our dogs from wandering over to the neighboring lot and home to their 7 dogs on chains. In order to convince our neighbor that we do not wish any additional visit from other animals(one dog, chain and all, killed 9 of our pet ducks), we chose to contain our pets very effectively with no chains.

    We would recommend this product. The pricing through this web-site was comparable to similar products sold at our local fleet stores and box stores. The model we purchased did not seem to be a stocked retail item, some models do not have the same capabilities for the amount of land you wish to enclose like the unit we chose. I found the instructions available through this and other web-sites invaluable in the planning and installation, along with the enclosed DVD."

    My Pitbull Sideshow is 90 pounds of solid muscle and has the IQ of a umm dog. As a puppy Sideshow ate the wheels off of my lawn mower and for desert he ate 30 of my favorite CD's. Sideshow is 6 years old now and a fantastic dog but if he wants to get on the other side of a fence he will. Just for fun Sideshow chewed a hole through a chainlink fence big enough for a 90 pound Pitbull to stroll though. Then I discovered "Radio Fence", problem solved. The unit I purchased is very strong and runs on a 9 volt battery and is 100% effective. It's a little pricey at first but well worth it and cheaper in the long run. For Sideshow it was his last chance, thank you Radio Fence.

    One of my dogs used to push the limit,he would listen to the beeping then run over the wire. NOT ANYMORE.
