The PetSafe Stubborn Dog Collar is for the "Hard-Headed" Dog. Featuring four levels of stimulation plus vibration as an added deterrent. This is a true breakthrough in pet containment.
The PetSafe Stubborn Dog Collar is for the occasional hard-to-train dog and is compatible with all PetSafe, Radio Fence and Pet Guardian Brand underground dog fences. It weighs just 3 ounces and is three times more effective than our regular dog fence collars with stubborn or hard to train dogs.

I think the vibration warning of this collar is one of the most important features. It vibrates harder than my cell phone and that usually stops the dog in its tracks. I have used this collar for three stubborn dogs (Beagle, Catahoula, Lab). My 7 month old lab puppy took three days of 10-15 minute sessions of training in a 4-acre containment area, and now will not cross the fence line

I already had a stubborn dog collar on my hucky/border collie mix who with a regular collar would run thru the fence stubborn dog collar stopped her immediately and for a while even when i took it off her she still thought she'd get zapped so i'd have to carry her out of the driveway when we went for walks she eventually figured it out that she could cross the border when the collar is off and the leash is on.
so purchased a new stubborn collar for our 3 year old sheltie, who doesn't seem fazed by the regular collar he got zapped right off the bat and does not go near the end of the driveway anymore, mission accomplished.

We have 5 dogs. Three are border collies and two were adept at defeating any collar we tried until this one. We even had 2 collars on one of them. These collars with the vibration stop them in their tracks. Great product.

These 'stubborn dog' fence collar are apparently no more effective than the old, regular dog collars they replaced. My dogs still roam where they want, as if they were wearing no collars at all. Not worth the extra money, in my experience.
It is very important that a dog be properly trained to stay within the boundary. One cannot just replace an existing collar with the Stubborn Dog Collar and expect the dog to stay in the yard. If a dog is going through the boundary with an existing collar, one must retrain the dog along with using the Stubborn Dog Collar.

Our dogs love to run on our 2 1/2 acres. This collar keeps them safe and away from the busy road.

I have a 1/2 Lab 1/2 Pointer which means he's big, strong and fast with a lot of energy. Though the regular collar worked 90% plus of the time, sometimes he couldn't control himself and he would burst through the barrier. The stubborn dog collar with the vibration along with the sound and shock if necessary has kept him in the yard. Also, it takes a regular 9 volt battery rather than the more expensive flat, round, calculator/hearing aid batteries.

This collar works great for our German Shepherds!

Love the collar and the whole system. Once it is installed, change the batteries every six months and forget about it. I have two Labs on 3.5 acres and I couldn't live without my RadioFence products.

Purchased this collar because our Cocker Spaniel was running through the boundary with the standard receiver. Now he stops well short. This is the second stubborn dog collar I have purchased. Several years ago, our Lab was also running out. The stubborn dog collar also worked for him. The first collar did eventually stop working, but a believe it was because our Lab frequently had it submerged in water/mud. I've found it is important to follow the recommendation of using the flags to help the dogs learn the boundaries at first. Our dogs are able to roam several acres worry free. Our Petsafe in ground fence has been working for nine years. I am a believer in this system. I have made several purchases from Radiofence.com. Their prices are very competitive and their shipping is prompt. Thank you!

For almost 20 years, since I bought my farm, I've been collecting rescues either from the SPCA or more recently dogs abandoned by hunters in South Carolina. I'm down to a pack of 10 dogs now, having lost 6 last year to very old age. I installed underground fence around 8 acres around two houses. Dogs have been tempted by my horses, my barn cat, a daily visit from a herd of 20 deer, a fox, neighbor dogs and various human visitors. They don't cross their line and therefore, stay safe. I wouldn't buy any other brand.
