Offer your thirsty pet fresher tasting water. The Drinkwell Platinum Pet Fountain's elegant design with high-impact plastic to hold over one gallon of water.
Developed by a Veterinarian, the Drinkwell Platinum Pet Fountain provides 168 oz (1.3 gal) of fresh, filtered water to your pet. A patented free-falling stream of water entices your pet to drink more and continually aerates the water with healthful oxygen. A charcoal filter removes bad tastes and odors, giving your pet the best way to stay hydrated! This fountain features many upgrades and a built-in reservoir to increase capacity and makes refills easy.
The Platinum features a new snap on lid to prevent accidental removal, a pre-filter to catch large particles before they reach the motor, and a new submersible pump for nearly silent operation. Features an ultra-quiet, submersible pump to continuously circulate water. Pre-filter traps larger debris while the three-layer charcoal filter removes smaller impurities. Water is returned to the large bowl via a gentle cascade from the 8-1/2" high elevated spout.
Adjustable flow control valve regulates water circulation for water flow that is customizable to your pet's needs. Rubber feet grip almost any floor surface to prevent slips. Bowl and reservoir are dishwasher safe. AC power adaptor includes a 6 ft long power cord.

It holds a lot of water. reasonably easy to fill although it is easy to spill some while putting canister on the back. My dogs were a little leary at first when it make the gurgling sound as it refills the lower bowl when they drink, but the got used to it. glad I bought this, I hate when they drink dirty, slobbery water.

I like this water feeder, but I'm not really sure if it's really that much better with a fountain. It works fine, low to no noise. It's just after one week, I have to empty the whole thing and give it a good cleaning. The reservoir and all. The whole water areas get a clear slim on it. You can't see it but you sure can feel it. I thought that if I had a fountain that this would keep the water from building that slim up. I'm sure that it does put oxygen in the water. I just wanted to say that I still like the product.

The fountain caters to 2 cats, sometimes 3, and lasts a whole week before needing a refill. I had expected splashing or drops of water on the floor from the cats drinking or by water falling into the pool below, but it keeps everything contained. The filters seem to last longer than the recommended lifespan for them.

Most pets will love it for the fresh clean taste they get each time taking to the bowl. Pets with flat faces like pugs, pekinese, and persians may have difficulties drinking. So not all pets benefit from this great system.

A part must be broken down and cleaned weekly with a brush not provided. Had I known this I might not have purchased. Otherwise, the product works well and we are satisfied along those lines.

My second one...one for me, one as a gift. My cats love it! So do I. Totally recommend this! Keeps the water fresh and cool.

This fountain was great. I had seen the original drink well fountain at the local animal shelter I volunteer for and I was so impressed with how quiet it was and the resident cat at the shelter loved It. So I ordered the drinkwell platinum for my cat and it was great. Very quiet and the fountain stream was adjustable which was perfect since my cat likes a thin steam from the faucet. However, the fountain is wider, bigger, and taller than it looks in the picture and for some reason my cat wouldn't drink out of it. I think she didn't know how to reach the water steam since the bowl part is so big. It took so much water to fill up. I was surprised how much it took. I did return it but I'm planning on ordering the travel fountain since smaller seems to fit my needs and hopefully my cats needs better.

I'm replacing a 6-8 year old one with the exact same unit. Tried the stainless steel one. That was loud (think tin roof) and no extra water tank. This one is quite and massive water tank. Two cats and I fill it lasts 10 days easy. Easy to clean. The old one did build up a hard water ring. I'll try some vinegar when cleaning this one to keep that down.
