Yes, it's foam, but not "orthopedic memory foam"
RadioFence.com Response: We believe this customer confused the bed she purchased with this one: http://www.radiofence.com/luxury-sofa-with-memory-foam/. That bed is similar to this one and does have the memory foam. The bed purchased by the customer is listed only under our Pet Sofa category and there is no mention of memory or orthopedic foam in the listing so there was no misrepresentation.
I like this product, but... I ordered it because I was looking for an orthopedic/memory foam dog bed for my 8-year-old, 75 lbs. Rottweiler/German Shepherd dog. This "Luxury Sofa" by Snoozer is listed under "Orthopedic" beds on Radio Fence's website. Furthermoe, once you click on "Orthopedic" and find the product, it is described as "Luxury Sofa with Memory Foam."
But, when I received it, I immediately realized that it was foam, but not memory foam and when I read the paperwork accompanying the bed, it said that it was "upholstery-grade foam." So... it is misrepresented on Radio Fence's website as an orthopedic/memory foam bed.
It's too big to return, so I bought a 1" memory foam crate bed and slipped it, inside, at the top of the Luxury Sofa, so that my dog will at least have one inch of memory foam, supported by the upholstery-grade foam.
I bought it with the "Hot Fudge" (rich, dark brown) cover and it is a very good looking bed.
One gripe about the (all-around) bolstering... as with most other bolster dog beds, it doesn't really give the dog a lot of support, when the dog lays its head on it. The bolstering sags to the side. I do wish dog bed bolstering were firmer, so that it could offer better support.
So, basically, it's a very good looking bed, but its type of foam is being misrepresented on Radio Fence's website and Snoozer might look into providing firmer bolstering on that model.
