Product Description

Make sure your cat behaves as if you were standing right there. The PetSafe Wireless Indoor Cat Barrier is safe, easy to set up and very effective.

Just place the small, disk-shaped transmitter (about the size of a Frisbee) near the area you want to protect. Then adjust the range from as little as 2 feet to up to 10 feet.

When your pet gets near the signal a warning beep sounds on the receiver/collar. If he continues to approach the protected area, a mild correction is given. You can increase or decrease the correction to meet your cat's training needs.

You can protect multiple areas and cats with additional transmitters or collars.  The receiver/collar is light and durable and specifically designed for cats with an elastic safety strip that will stretch in those instances where your cat is exploring in a tight place.

  • For cats 6 pounds and up and older than 6 months
  • Works with multiple cats (additional receiver collars required)
  • 4 adjustable levels of static correction
  • Tone-only mode alerts your pet with a beep
  • Our lightest waterproof receiver collar with safety stretch section
  • Low battery indicator
  • Collar uses PetSafe RFA-188 battery (included)

  1. Works very well, but was delivered with bad battery 3 Star Review

The Cat barrir has been working very well to keep my cat from shredding the living room furniture. One big disappointment, though, was that the battery went dead within within the first week! You'd expect a new product to last longer before having to replace the batteries.

  2. Works like a charm 5 Star Review

Have been using the Petsafe Indoor Cat Barrier for 2 weeks now and it works exactly how I hoped it would. It's easy to set up and use. It only took our cat about 2 days to get used to the new collar and stop fidgeting with it. He tested the limits of it once and got his correction, and now when it beeps he turns the other way. The low setting of correction works just fine for him. We use it to keep him from going out the dog door. This was recommended to me by a friend who uses it for her 3 cats, and it works great for her also.

  3. Wish I had found this sooner 5 Star Review

After moving into a new home, our cat had "issues" going on the carpet in the front room of our home. After a year of stumbling through methods of trying to deter her from doing it, I found the indoor cat fence in a general google search. This is the solution to all of our problems. We believe she received a "correction" just once and now, will not even enter the room. She uses her litterbox non=stop now and appears overall, more at ease just knowing her options are now strictly a litterbox. This is the best product for improper elimination issues with a cat! We have now replaced the carpet in the room now that we know a solution has finally been discovered!

  4. Works perfect 5 Star Review

My 4 indoor cats pretty much destroyed my old house so when I moved to a brand new one I needed to control where they could go while giving them freedom to move around in allowable areas. I also needed to keep them away from a door to outside since my heavily wooded area would be dangerous to them should they sneak out. The cats adjusted to the collars in a day, I was surprised at just how fast they caught on and am still amazed at how well it works.

Good to keep animals in a designated area. I am using 3 units to allow a larger roam area for my cat.

  6. I would buy this product again. 5 Star Review

I use this to keep my obese cat from eating my dog's food. It worked wonderfully for keeping him out of the dog food.

New kitten that continued attempts to get outdoors through the dog door where there are dogs, foxes, and coyotes. This product is a lifesaver, the cat now stays away from the dog door.

  8. An excellent product 5 Star Review

Very useful. We just about gave up on our cat who loves to jump over the fence. This product sure curtailed that.

  9. Finally, A Cat Fence System That Works! 5 Star Review

Posted by on Oct 10th 2011

"I've tried all types of cat containment systems to keep cats off of my furniture and out of rooms. None of them have worked until I bought this product.

The cat fence collars are easy to attach to your pet and they are self-releasing, if your cat gets stuck, for the cat's safety. The collars are compatible with the PetSafe dog fence systems, so your outdoor fence system can coexist with the indoor system.

Adjusting the wireless system transmitters and correctly placing the transmitters is somewhat challenging, especially if you have a house with complex architecture. However, once you've adjusted everything, they work great. Adjusting the strength of the wireless signal is done with a wheel knob on the front of the transmitter.

To adjust my system, I set the trasmitter level, then held the collar with my hand until it started beeping in the desired area. Remember, don't touch the electrodes while you're doing this!

Be prepared for a few ""escapes"" while training the cat. If an escape does happen, you should increase the shock level on the collar. Frankly, I'd probably start higher than the ""3"" level at which they ship from the factory. Once the cats are trained, they will not stay too long in an area if their collar is giving the warning beep. At that point, you can adjust the collars down in their shock level.

The cats hated me, in the beginning, but they have gotten a lot more freedom in the long run with this containment system. I can now let them roam outdoors without being worried they will jump my mechanical fences. We have lots of foxes in the area and a cat outside of my 7' high cinder block fence makes a tasty meal for a fox."

  10. Should have bought it sooner!! 5 Star Review

This fence solved an expensive and life threatening situation with fighting among my cats. For an odd reason one of my adult cats began violently attacking another, very timid adult after another kitten was introduced. The "fence" gives my timid cat a safe room to retreat to, and the aggressive cat thinks this timid cat has new found "strength". I can't be more happier with the product!!!
