Do you have a hyper hound who is hard to train? The PetSafe Stubborn Dog Underground Fence is quick and easy to install, reliable and safe, and a very effective solution.
The PetSafe Stubborn Dog Collar has four levels of correction plus vibration in the warning area for an added deterrent. Even dogs that resist training respond well to this system. With 4 higher-intensity settings, these harmless electrical stimulations work so effectively that most dogs will learn to stop in their tracks at the sounds of the early warning tone before any stimulation. Plus, its vibration option is ideal for hearing-impaired or senior dogs!
Some dogs were born to test limits. But the Stubborn Dog In-Ground Fence system sets firm boundaries that you’ll quickly train them to understand. Here’s how it works. You’ll set the boundary by burying wires around the perimeter of your yard. Your dog wears a collar that picks up the signal from the transmitter. As your dog nears the boundary wires, a beep alerts your dog, giving them a chance to stop without any correction. For those that continue, a safe static correction reminds them to stay in the area you’ve established. Simply adjust the correction level if your dog continues to test the boundaries. After about 2 weeks of training, even the most stubborn dogs can start enjoying their new yard freedom! And for hearing-impaired or senior dogs who simply can’t detect the beep, there’s a special vibration mode. Your furry friends will certainly thank you for the extra help in keeping them safe!

This Pet Fence Kit includes everything you need to contain one pet in a yard up to 1/3 acre. With additional wire and flags and dog fence collars, you can enclose up to 10 acres and contain an unlimited number of pets.
Factory Grade Wire
This is the wire included in all self-install kits. Regardless of gauge, this wire is of medium quality, lighter weight and keeps shipping and initial costs down. This wire will work but does not hold up to the elements as well as a professional grade wire. The vinyl wire coating is prone to cracks and over time exposes the copper leaving the wire susceptible to damage. This can cause issues that impact the functionality of your dog fence system. Since finding, digging up, and repairing wire breaks can be a tedious job at best, many people prefer to upgrade to a pro-grade wire from the start.
Heavy Duty Grade Wire
The initial cost of heavy duty grade wire is a bit more than manufacturer grade wire. However, there are many benefits to choosing heavy duty wire for your dog fence. Heavy Duty grade dog fence wire holds up better to freezing conditions, sunlight exposure, contraction and expansion of the ground, water exposure and general wear and tear. The long term savings in time and replacement if you are planning on staying in your home for at least a year or more, makes the heavier duty wire a much better investment.

I have a shepherd/pit mix who is only a year old. He is a master escape artists. We live on about 5 acres and have chickens. The front yard was for our dog and back yard for chickens. Our dog didn't see it that way. After about the 10th time going after chickens and the fifth time of him just going off and exploring, I did some research. I know my dog and how hardheaded he is when it came to listening so I needed a system that would mean business. The electric fence for stubborn dogs did just that. It only took three days of learning the flags and shock zone and only three times trying to go after chickens or other wildlife. Now I can sit on the back deck with chickens free range and he stays put. Thank you for helping me keep our special guy where he belongs.

I have a German Shepherd with a high prey drive. She went through training and listens excellent but if something catches her attention she could bolt if you aren't there to recall her. I wanted something that I could feel safe with leaving her outside after I came in. We have plenty of property but unfortunately have a country road in the front of our property that cars travel quickly on. The vet recommended we waited until she was 10 months old. It was a pain using a leash until that point especially having small children. As soon as she turned of age I buried 1500 feet of wire and left another 500 above ground. It took some time but wasn't awful since the wire doesn't have to go very deep. I know the book tells you to go slow and maybe with some dogs you do but after she got shocked the first time I shook the flags as we walked (like you would for a horse) and said watch the flags. By day three she was a different dog. Way more calm and obedient and is even better on a leash now because it's not such a drag like it used to be. she never goes over the boundary and has probably only been shocked a total of three times since 3-2013 and it is 9-2013 now. She hardly ever even wears the collar and nothing will tempt her over the line. I kept the flags in for about two months and she knows everywhere she can go. I would highly recommend this fence. It changed everything for the better. I am happier and more importantly so is she. Other fences can be jumped, dug under, but so far I have found nothing that will make her cross that line.

These are great dog fences for stubborn dogs. My dog insists on trying to run after joggers, just to run with them, and when he feels the vibration now he stops. It took him a while, but the levels of correction on here helped us to train him better. This has been a very worthwhile product.

Iput in 1500 feet of wire and joined it to my neighbor, who already had about 1200 feet.We put the stubborn dog collars on his lab and my husky bordie collie mix ,showed them the flags and turned them loose. After a couple of corrections they learned to stay in the boundary. This stopped them from hanging out in my driveway and the other neighbor,s yard. They are calmer since they are free more.

I am hopeful about the quality of the Pet Safe Stubborn Dog fence because of the 5 settings. There is a glich that no one can help however; we can't find anything that will tempt Shadow (75 lb lab/rotweiller) enough to know that the system works. I've walked my female dog on the other side of the fence and we have an outside cat who also tempts him some. He did chase a deer outside of the fence while we were watching him and the setting was only on two however. We changed the setting to three and the only thing that will tempt him is another deer or something similar. He doesn't care about the cat. We live in the country and we get a lot of coyotes around here; the system will truly be tested. He is very scared of the vibration itself so chances are very good this will work for the long haul. I do wonder about how long the system will last, since these fences are so new on the market. I'm extremely grateful when I see my dog all muddy and soken wet from zipping around the yard in the rain. Also, when I check his neck for spots; it never fails, he burps every time (because I have to rub his neck for this). It's just funny.

I have a 6 month Cane Corso with high prey drive. I wanted to aid him in staying in his area and this foots the bill. I keep his collar on level one(vibrate) and he has learned his boundry faster then i could put the flags in. The only gripe I have is that it seems at times that the correction area is inconsistant. I had no issues installing the unit, or training Drake. I truelly recommend this unit to any dog owner.

It was a lot of work setting it up for a old lady and two 13 year old boys, but worth every dime and minute.
We laid the 1100 feet of wire on top of the ground for location, tested it, spray painted the wire location, used the trench master, placed the wire in the trench, tested it, covered the wire with sand (35 70# bags), and then placed the flags. I also used conduit in several places in the gravel and across other wires and had to twist the two wires together for 35 feet to and from the control box.
My two 1 yr old Boxer/German Short Hair Pointers learned in 3 days. Benji and Daisy really, really love it. I do not need to worry that they are in the street or have to chase them down for hours. Also, my kids love it, now they can play with their puppies in the yard. This allows both the puppies and my kids to play off their extra energy - a win, win situation for this old lady.

This fence works great, wouldn't go without it. We enclosed about 15 acres, and have 2 dogs. Our German Shepherd took 2 times around the fence to figure it out and she won't cross it. Our other dog took a couple more times, but she finally got it. I would definately recommend this fence.

This product has given me so much happiness for my dog and me. I have been using for about eight months. It is a great product and it really works. I have never been so happy and excited about a fence for my dogs. I just open the door and they can run on our four acres of land with no issues. I have extremly happy dogs.
